The South Carolina Alliance for Recovery Residences is proud to offer veterans and their spouses access to subsidized recovery housing. Any individual enrolled through SCARR’s Veterans Housing Program is entitled to $1250 a month for housing-related expenses. The funds are available for up to three months, or until funding is exhausted. 

Veterans MUST meet the following requirements to be eligible to participate:

  • Veterans: Must be an individual who served in active military, naval, or air service and was discharged under conditions other than dishonorable; or a former National Guard member or reservist (even if never active under Title 10 orders) who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.  

  • Widows/Widowers: Must be the spouse of a deceased veteran.

  • Residency: Must currently reside in South Carolina.

  • Discharge Documents: Must be able to provide a Department of Defense Form DD-214, Department of Defense National Guard Bureau (NGB) Form 22, or equivalent documentation.

  • Exclusions: Those who are listed on the South Carolina Public Sex Offender Registry are ineligible for housing assistance.
